Recent visit arrived at 12:30 PM and advised serving lunch only. I ordered the Patty melt which was very tasty and well done , the homemade fries were greasy- not cooked through somewhat hard as in undercooked... would not order these again, the fried dough was subpar- more like a danish than dough that was allowed time to rise and have a hole in middle.. would not order this again Norma J's serves a better fried dough. Server was not responsive to check on how we were doing if we needed more water?/ had to wait 10 minutes to see her come out and flag her down.. mediocre service food?
Visiting from Boston and had the best breakfast ever. Don’t listen to the bad reviews from people that cannot even form a proper sentence. My group had pancakes, omelettes, sausage gravy, and the AMAZING homemade toast. Everything was delicious and not your typical greasy diner food. The owner Melanie was a delight and you can tell how hard she works. Food came out quickly and the coffee was very good too. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m visiting!
LOVED BREAKFAST!!! Delicious omelettes and hash browns, good strong coffee, FANTASTIC HOMEMADE BREAD. Wonderful service! Thank You!
So, imagine this: You stroll into what used to be Dukes Diner, expecting a throwback to the good ol' days. Lo and behold, it's still rocking that retro vibe. The owner greets you with a smile that could power a small town.
Now, let's talk food. You sit down, hungry as a bear in hibernation, and order up a storm. The burger arrives, and it's not bad at all. Not Michelin-star quality, but hey, it's a diner, not a gourmet palace. Then comes the homemade fries. You take a bite, and... well, let's just say they're more homemade than gourmet. And don't even get me started on the raspberry tea—it's just "okay," like the B-list actor of beverages.
But fear not! Your friend saves the day with a glowing review of their grilled cheese. It's like a warm hug between two slices of bread—simple, comforting, and downright delicious.
So, despite the hit-and-miss food, you leave with a promise to return. Maybe for breakfast next time. After all, every diner deserves a second chance, right? Who knows, maybe the eggs benedict will be the stuff of legends. Until then, keep the retro vibes alive, and keep those taste buds guessing!
