The food here is so good! Their process for ordering take out is digital and modern, making it very convenient.
The food itself is phenomenal and one-of-a-kind in the CNY area. The Bibim Bop is delicious, and the Angry Gnocchi is hardy and filling. The spices are on-point and the pricing is very affordable. I'm very excited to try more of what they have to offer.
Even when ordering take out, you can tell the folks that run Yori House are enthusiastic and kind people. The atmosphere inside is very warm and cozy, looking forward to eating in!
I highly recommend Yori House and hope they become a Cortland main-stay!
We loved the food! The chicken tacos spicy version were the best. Yummy ?
They should be commended for bringing a novel concept (Korean fusion) to the Cortland area. The menu has some creative options that I've never seen elsewhere, and most items are very affordable. Service is friendly and the space has potential.
Now to where improvements can be made:
Kimchi fried rice is too dry. The rice tastes like it has been sitting there for a long time. Kimchi and pork taste bland. I am also disappointed that it doesn't come with a fried egg - it should at least be offered as an add-on option in my opinion.
The gnocchi dish tastes quite similar to spicy rice cake (but replace rice cake with gnocchi). It may be nice if you happen to like the combination. However, I find it a bit lacking and would prefer if it has some other ingredients (e.g., veggie).
Yori House us the newest addition to the food scene in Cortland, NY located at 114 Elm Street, just a hop away from East Side Bakery and across from Green Arch. At today's opening, they were already slammed with orders (to go ONLY for now). The veggie pancakes were very flavorful packed with green onions, and carrots and had three distinct dipping sauces to choose from, none of which were overpowering. The Bibim Bop (bibimbap) is traditionally served in a hot stone pot, but given this is take-out, the flavors of the meat, veggies, and hot chili paste blended perfectly. We will definitely be back to try the tacos and gnocchi to explore their fusion dishes. Congratulations on your successful launch of Yori House, and thank you for bringing your culinary and cultural heritage to CNY!
