We stopped here a while ago. The food and service were quite good. But we caught a blueberry dessert right out of the oven that was over the top great. We're still talk about that dessert.
The diner was very nice. Good food and service. I had a salad and it was excellent. Family ordered the soup and liked it a lot. I would go there again.
Service is usually decent, though I've had the occasional crabby and/or absent-minded server. The food is usually great diner food, especially omelettes, coffee, and burgers. Prices are typical diner prices for the Hudson Valley. Nice retro decor inside and out. Good place to stop by with some friends and family for a comfy, yummy meal.
This is the greatest old school dinner around. I traveled over an hour and a half for breakfast here. My wife & I attended the college down the road (Go Red Foxes!) and would always come here. That was 15 yes ago, and it's still great. The food is amazing fresh & the specialty drinks (shakes, egg creams, etc) are beyond delicious and will make you want to come back for more. It's an absolute gem in historic Hyde Park. Breakfast, lunch or Dinner, you can't miss at the Eveready Diner. I've eaten at the Culinary Institute (also just down the road), and I love Eveready more. Should you find yourself on Albany Post Rd (Rt 9) in Hyde Park, you won't miss the neon lights drawing you in; I strongly suggest stopping in for a bit to eat
A magnet for locals and passers-through, the Eveready Diner admirably handles high volume whilst maintaining good professionalism and clean facilities. This review only sampled desserts, but those were delicious, the fruit salad being impressively fresh. In the vestibule are a gumball machine with spiraled drop-out, a claw-and-plushy game, and a vitrine displaying merchandise in promotion of Eveready, such as caps and t-shirts. On August 31st, 2018, Larry Sharpe appeared here during a stop on his gubernatorial campaign.
