There's a lot of Chinese food in the world. Very little of it is good, sadly. Being from NYC, we see so much take out and so much of it is just terrible. Chicken entrees that are mostly water chestnuts and baby corns and shredded bamboo shoots. It gets old, fast. The worst is thick doughy "dumplings" that use dumpling wraps that are 1/4 inch thick. Chans is nothing like that. I've been there 2-3 times, and have been continuously impressed: dumplings that I believe are home made (ask for those special), with thin tasty wrappings; a sesame chicken that was white meat, a meaningful portion, over broccoli perfectly green not over cooked. and with a light tasty batter. It's great to know this place exists when I visit Poughkeepsie. I always make it there. Keep up the great work!
The service is great, staff are very polite and food is really good!!! One of the best Chinese restaurants in Poughkeepsie!
I usually order the chicken with broccoli and it hits the spot everytime.
Probably the best Chinese food if I might use those words, in the area that I can recall from many of the places that we've been. Always fresh always ha with homemade dumplings which I think are awesome general tso's chicken sesame chicken beef with broccoli and many more choices which I haven't even really delve into yet, but I am quite content with everything including the free tea that they have while you wait great atmosphere eating takeout stand on your head probably one of my favorite Chinese food places of all time
The best place for Chinese food in all of the Hudson Valley. They always make any dish you choose as if they were making it to eat themselves. A couple years ago there restaurant suffered from a tragic fire and they had to close because there was nothing left in the building. It burnt to ashes. Now after a couple of years have passed they have moved down the street to a new building to reopen the restaurant. They have incredible staff and they cook with love. They are also very welcoming and you see a lot of the same people coming here to eat along with new faces. I'm so happy they decided to reopen after the tragic loss of there old building. The owners know that the customers love them and the owners love them back. That's how you know this is an A+++ place to eat at. Especially since I've never heard of a restaurant suffer so much from so much of a loss and be able to come back from the ashes and rise to greatness again!
