Genesis Rising

This restaurant serves authentic Jamaican food and is only a minute or two away from ECMC Hospital in a modest, clean location. It's a great choice whether you have been longing for Caribbean food or if you are trying it for the first time. The owner is kind and pleasant (staff is too!) and offers a menu with a variety of items ranging from traditional dishes (e.g., jerked, curried, or stewed chicken, curried goat, roti, meat or vegetable patties, salt-fish) to salads, sandwiches, and desserts including rumcake. Side dishes such as fried plantains (ripe, sweet, and cooked to perfection), and peas and rice (seasoned well), and fried/steamed cabbage are available with the dinner specials. The jerked chicken is excellent (spicy, tender meat falls off the bone). Friends who are afraid to try something new will find some familiar items on the menu, so invite them to join you here on your next Caribbbean food adventure.
