Great views - nothing fancy but you get to sit right on the water. Beautiful view of the lake and downtown Buffalo. We enjoyed our meals and will likely stop again. Reasonably priced with friendly staff.

Hoak's is a very nostalgic please with a ton of local history. I was a little disappointed with my fish, seemed a little salty. There views are fantastic. We watched a beautiful sunset from the parking lot

We drove an hour to have the Guinness fish fry, and found that it's rare when the offer it. We saw it on line, that's why we went.
But we stayed and had their regular fish fry which was good. No soggy bottoms. It wasn't beer battered, but fried with ,I believe ,bread crumbs.
The sides were good. Choice of potato, Cole slaw, tartar sauce, which was really good.
The waiter we had was kind informative and friendly. We never had to wait for coffee. Our food came out quickly and hot.
Our problems were...it was very busy and we went at 8pm, to beat a Friday dinner crowd. We were seated at a small table between the door outside to patio, the bar, and the wait staff station. Crazy!
I was bumped into by staff and customers our whole stay. One waiter, literally bumped into me every time he walked by. We counted eight times, once we began counting. So I had to watch before I took a sip of coffee. Try not to get seated there.
It's very loud, so don't expect to have a conversation with anyone.
The bathrooms were clean, considering how busy it was, but very small. Even with two stalls, two people couldn't walk in this tiny room.
All in all it was a good visit, but probably won't return.
