The crab cakes were incredible and the place had a neat atmosphere , however the service needs some improvement. I believe the owner was our waiter and there was not one thing we ordered that he didn’t question. It felt like he was a salesman when he showed almost every dish to other tables before giving it to the correct table. We declined dessert multiple times and he asked us again and again if we were sure we didn’t want it. I don’t like to be pushed into ordering things and felt this completely unnecessary.
What a gem! Looks outside are deceiving. When you go in, you are in for an incredible dining experience. Four of us had prime rib, cut to perfection, and could be cut with a fork. I had the crab cakes, the best I've ever had. The chicken dish was also incredible. Dining in the screen porch was wonderful. The chef came out to chat, impressed! Throw blankets provided for cooler nights. Owners made us feel right at home. We all had a great time! Thank you.
We came here with a large party and had an amazing, personal experience. The food was delicious. Reserve in advance. Thank you!
This wonderful gem was a complete and pleasant surprise. The level of quality here is something you only expect to see in Manhattan or some other world-class urban core, not in the middle of the Adirondacks.
We were greeted by the exceedingly friendly owner who seated us at a prime table outside on the screened-in porch. It was a beautiful summer evening.
Our server was a lovely young lady who explained the specials and the highlights of the menu with savior-faire and finesse.
The wine recommendations were perfectly matched to our meal choices. We shared three appetizers with our group, all of which were expertly prepared and served with beautiful presentation.
Our entrees were equally delicious. As a Marylander who tends to be snobby about ordering crab cakes out of state, I took a chance and was rewarded with two mouth-watering cakes that were infused with copious amounts of fresh crab.
For the next 2 hours, we enjoyed one of the FINEST fine dining experiences in recent memory.
As the evening cooled, we took advantage of the comfortable throws thoughtfully provided on the back of each chair. This was a wonderful way to enjoy our scrumptious desserts complemented by homemade ice cream and hot coffee with a splash of Tia Maria liqueur.
The entire experience was just perfect. Bravo to the Owl!
A quiet location with a scenic deck or a cozy dining room are just the beginning. All dinners are prepared made to order. And the garden out back is the source of the herbs for the freshest taste. Well worth it.
