Smile to go is a great spot for a pretty high quality lunch for the price. The roast chicken is delicious and an easy consistently strong choice, and you can't go wrong with any of the sides. Decent price for the quantity/quality of food.
Amazing food, pasteries with lots of vegan options you cannot tell are vegan something not easy to pull off.
Best Hot Chocolate in New York City!! And insanely delicious pastries to match!! Such a delightful spot to spend a winter afternoon!
You can't go wrong with the smile. I work nearby and went in one morning and was treated to a breakfast burrito from here. It was really nice. The perfect size for a quick bite and I immediately craved it, so occasionally grab one before work. Nice coffee and it has indoor seating, but if it's nice out the view of the river is right there.
I'm really sorry to have to write a "meh" review for this place, because I loved it so, so much the first several months it was open. The food was exciting and always changing, the staff were friendly and good at their jobs, and the atmosphere was positive and easy going. Unfortunately, this place seems to be going downhill in a hurry. The staff has almost entirely turned over, and now it's difficult to get a decent cup of coffee, or even just a friendly hello. They no longer consistently update their website with the day's menu, and the food has become bland and extremely repetitive, with the same 3-4 dishes every day. The vibes are of a place that is floundering, for whatever reason, and it's really sad to see. This was such a great addition to the neighborhood when it opened, and now I find myself looking elsewhere most of the time. I hope they manage to make a turnaround -- but I'm not holding my breath.
