Der Pioneer

My wife and I recently started coming here since the cafes on courtyleou are a bit crowded on the weekends. Their coffee is great, and parties look delicious (especially the macaroons). There was a piano player there recently as well, which gave some nice ambiance.

A true neighborhood gem! Come for the lemon ricotta pancakes on a lazy Sunday morning or swing by for their decadent house made pastries and a coffee for an afternoon pick me up. You just can’t go wrong with Der Pioneer.

Skilled extractions from interesting Brooklyn Roasters varieties, quiet, spacious, spare and elegant. Bjorn, the owner, is gracious behind the counter and a gifted baker, while his staff is cheerily competent. Altogether a great addition to a neighborhood in need of quiet places.

An absolute jewel to the neighborhood! Unbelievably good pastries and large meals, all made in house. Coffee is bold and flavorful, and the staff is warm and knowledgeable. Would give 10 stars if I could ✨ Today I ate the rib hash with my cold brew.
