I've started coming here back when it was House of Juice when they were mainly serving acai bowls, smoothies and house-made Kombucha. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the other day that they have expanded into a microbrewery (you can still get healthy drinks here but now + alcohol!). The cozy and dim decor here does suit it better as a bar. The owner (Danii Oliver) provided us a tour of the taproom where they produce their own beer and cider. They also make bottles on sight that you can purchase to go. I'm not really a beer person but i did like the Ginger Whine. Danii is very personable and attentive. She might be the only woman of color brewing and serving her own beer in NYC. And from speaking to her, she plans to do even more with the place and involve the community. She makes solid cocktails which I've sampled a few (sorrel rum punch is my fav). The addition of snacks sporadically while you drink is also a nice touch. I like this place is BYOF, people brought in food from places nearby. I'm waiting for the time when food is included in the menu.
Love the cocktails @ decent prices! Love the music! Love that it is Black-owned! Love that I can finally drink a block away from my house! Definitely will be back!
A little gem in Brooklyn... great staff, delicious beers, and nice atmosphere...
Love this spot! Beer/kombucha is delicious. Dog friendly. Great Friday happy hours and service!
Beautiful people, beautiful beers. An amazing array of Caribbean magic infused ales, ciders, and lagers. Truly a mouth watering journey from start to finish.
Went here for my boyfriend's birthday for the tasting tour. It's amazing what's in your own "backyard". The owner and the bartender were beautiful people. The owner was very thorough with describing each drink and showing us his brewery room. He explained the equipment used, time made, etc. Well worth the money and the hour slot. My boyfriend was happy to not only drink but learn about the making of the beer. Fun and educational. Loved the vibes and my boyfriend felt at home on the islands being here. Great business. I wish them success.
