After had yunnan noodles at another restaurant in the nabe, we decided also give this newly open restaurant a try. We have to say we like Mengziyuan much more. The chicken broth is rich and tasty and the toppings are way better quality. Although it’s a bit more pricy, we are happy to pay for the difference. The restaurant is very clean, cozy with much comfortable sitting. We will definitely come back soon!
Cozy place and great portion. Love the fancy box they display to you before putting all the ingredients into the soup. :)
good noodle and exceptional service. wife left the phone there and the staff ran a block to catch us to return her phone. 5 stars.
Tried Meetrice/mengziyuan for the first time today. Nice broth, fresh ingredients, and much more comfortable seating than alternatives in the area. We tried the pork and the seafood versions, both were excellent.
They bring out all the ingredients for each bowl nicely laid out in a box first. Then, the broth comes out in a heated stone bowl, and the server puts the noodles, along with all the toppings in the boiling hot broth for you. Then you dig in!
My favourite bowl of Cross Bridge noodles in NYC so far. Will be back for more!
CHINA ???????? (Yunnan)
Eat the World NYC review:
The "rice" in the name refers to the style of noodle eaten in Yunnan Province. These rice noodles are having their moment in New York City, with the famous "Crossing the Bridge Noodles" dish leading the way. A full set of toppings is brought out individually to be combined in the hot soup at the table. The history is debated, but the deliciousness is not. Swipe for a couple rice noodle options and one rice dish.
