I came here for dim sum with my mother sometime back. The food was okay. It was a very long wait. They do not take reservations, also it is cash only. Please be aware.
Real good Chinese food.
+ tasty Cantonese food, reasonable prices.
- often busy, suggest RSVP for dinner, street parking only.
= Reliable spot to satisfy your Cantonese food cravings.
We came for dim sum and that's what we got. Some of their dishes were good and some you could tell weren't so fresh. For example we ordered both beef and pork ribs with rice crepe. The rice crepe was cold and gummy. Did not taste good at all. But on the other hand we ordered the Walnut buns which were very good. Sadly service also could have been better. You really have to flag the waiters down. We wanted to put in an order for a platter and it took us awhile before anyone would come over.
Golden Bay is my favorite dim sum place, great food and top notch service. There's usually a 15-20 minute wait time for dim sum. The service here is quick and attentive- always filling the teapot! I absolutely love the people here!
Some things I recommend are shrimp dumplings, custard pig bao, salt & pepper squid and fish maw & crab meat soup, fried sardines, and walnut shrimp with broccoli. Their fried sardines have lots of eggs inside of them, which are super tasty.
