This place is so much more than a coffee shop – it's a top-notch diner with an extensive, varied menu of freshly-made food. Staying at the hospital for 2 full days, I tried a lot on the menu. It was all amazing. Every. Single. Thing: Breakfast Burrito, Cubano Panini, Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup, Tuna Melt, Kale and Quinoa veggie burger, breakfast sandwich. I only scratched the surface of the menu. Coffee is actually good (never burnt) and they have a variety of baked goods. Also, a very subtle feature is their choice of hot sauce: El Yucateco.
The diner is actually managed privately (they lease the space from the hospital) and it shows. They staff take pride in their service and food. A 24 hour diner, it's a truly pleasant experience. I would honestly come back to the hospital just for the diner. Thank you for making a difficult hospital experience much easier!

I'm a vendor who frequently travels to many local hospitals, and Lutheran is one of the dumpiest. So, when I heard another vendor raving about the coffee shop, I made it my business to check it out. Excellent, more like a diner than a hospital cafeteria. Totally shocked. Note that it's cash only, and enjoy!
