Ok this is the first review I ever wrote on a restaurant because I was that impressed. I will start with I am a Chef and have made a living at that for over 20 years.. We ordered beef and lamb over noodles... the beef was actual brisket... the lamb tender.. noodles cooked perfect... the second dish was curried chicken ... again sauce was perfect chicken perfect and the potato’s done perfect ..they were firm not over cooked .. oh I forgot I ordered it as take out... I can’t wait to actually go there! Lots of luck Ginny’s $5- $9.

Super low prices for bay ridge, conveniently rite on 3rd/71st corner of bay ridge. Come here alot an luv it. Better every time I go. You rock Ginny!

I tried this place a few times and it has its pros and cons. The owner is an interesting character. She cooks most of the food, and makes you feel as she is welcoming you into her home. The portions are fair, there is a decent selection, and the prices are reasonable, hence the name (all dishes in the $5-$9 range). I have gotten dishes on a few occasions that were saltier than I would have liked, but that is my preference. The interior is elaborately decorated but it comes off as a bit messy to me. When I tried to pay with card they said their machine was not set up yet, so be aware of that. Also, the waitstaff could be more professional/clean-cut. Otherwise, the food is very good for the price, and it has that home-cooked vibe to it. They have potential, I think they will improve with time.

Unbelievable low prices, thus the name $5-$9, and beautifully decorated throughout... Just launched and still working bugs out but at these prices for great unique food to this Bay Ridge area is more than welcomed...
