To sum it up in words, Pilot is charming, surprising, and romantic.
I took my boyfriend on a date here. It’s a visible but also perfectly discreet place to get lost in each other (over some fish and chips and a glass of white if that’s what you’re into).
It was surprisingly easy to make a reservation. We went on a Friday evening around 8. When we arrived they walked us to our table which was against the wall of the ship and due to the design of the ship and the current of the water there were several times where our drinks almost slid off of the table.
The service was decent. Our server was patient with us as we made our choices. We’re two guys who love food so when we go to restaurants we like to try a variety of small things on the menu. Although neither of us remember what items we ordered on the menu, we are, unfortunately, able to recall how lackluster our dishes were. The cocktails were average and could have had more of a kick in flavor and alcohol.
The only memorable thing about Pilot was the atmosphere. The ship is beautifully curated. Between that and the fact that it is on the water and is bobbing in the current gives you the feeling that you are setting sail even though you’re tied to the dock.
It's a bar on a beautiful sailboat! Nice classy bar, a bit pricey of course, but great atmosphere and a great view.
The food menu is not vegan friendly, but they have good fries and a couple of other options. Only minor quibble is you can't order food at the bar
Don’t go for fast service or big portions. Go for the beautiful view. Took an hour and 15 minutes for our food to come out. The scallops were the most delectable and most filling choice. The oysters from Canada were the best. Oddly creamy and fresh. The drinks are way too expensive for the taste you get. They’re trying to be too creative and the taste is not there. 14.50 for a well gin and tonic...
Found this place while walking around the Hudson Riverside. It's a really cool place with awesome food. Beer was great (order the 'pilot'). The bartender (Katherine) was great. It's a good spot for just chilling out or a romantic dinner! It's a seasonal place, so you gotta hurry up if you wanna visit this place this year. It was a really great and unique experience. Highly recommend it.
Wait was a little long on a Saturday night but that was expected especially when the weather is beautiful. The staff were super nice, loved their vibe. Food was delicious. Oysters were fresh. Seared scallops were good too.
