Good tasting food. The cauliflower soup was a real standout.
Very small intimate setting. I came for their brunch which they serve Friday-Sunday. The food was beautiful and the pickled vegetables were really good. The price to raw fish ratio was a little off to me (only about 8 pieces in my bowl; it was 60% vegetables). Definitely will come back to try the food again, although maybe their other dishes.
Also, they do not request a service charge/tip.
9 total seats so make sure you get there on the early side (5:30-6pm is generally safe) or be willing to wait a bit. If you have to wait, it is TOTALLY worth it. One of the most well-executed contemporary Japanese menus I've seen in NY. Omakase (very reasonable at $30pp) is a must.
This place is a tribute to simple, beautiful and exquisite Kyoto sushi. The food is beyond delicious. Every bite will surprise you and satisfy you at the same time. A perfect balance between creative and traditional. I'd eat here every night if I could.
Explosion of flavors in my mouth. Most interesting and delicious sushi I ever had. Similar to Okonomi, tiny place, beautiful, minimalist design and very friendly staff!
