DELICIOUS PLACE WITH VERY SWEET STAFF & AMAZING PIZZA... WE WERE ALL HAPPY ESPECIALLY OUR DAUGHTERS...
Whether you are a tourist or a local, this is hands down one of the best places to check out in Coney Island. The pizza is made to order, so comes out steaming hot and fresh, not to mention the brick oven that keeps all the veggies rich in flavor. The sauce is so finger licking good that one person can finish an entire pie in one sitting. Don’t be discouraged by how massive even a small pie looks thinking you can’t handle it, because it is a thin crust. I especially like the BBQ pizza from their specials. Staff is super friendly and I find the place great for family get-togethers with a decent selection of appetizers, a variety of house wines and a game area for the kids!
Finally got to go out without our kids. Decided to enjoy some Grimaldi pizza and the location off-season. Spent 2 hours listening to the smashing of air hockey game played by loud kids while daddy was drinking with his buddies Since ceilings are high and there is not much to dampen the sound of it the noise was too prevalent.Needless to say it was not an enjoyable, adult experience.
Pizza was AWESOME!!!!! Can not buy slices, only whole pies, which is okay because you're going to want more than 1 slice anyway. Waitress made a mistake on our soda order, didn't apologize but readily exchanged it, so no real complaint on this. My ONLY SOLID complaint was on the billing: We were 4 adults, a 5 year old child and a 9 month old infant who sat in his stroller and didn't eat pizza, drink soda nor was served by waitress! We were still charged a SIX person SURCHARGE!!! Total of $76 for PIZZA!!! I didn't notice this imposed charge on the menu, even though she said it's on there? I know normally places impose this charge for parties of 7 or 8 and more... She explained "it's basically a tip..." At best, if you included my 5 year old child, that would have been a party of 5, but not six! Ironically, the surcharge equated about what her gratuity would have been, so it was OK. Imagine what they charged the group of Sweet 16 revelers adjacent to our table? All in all, not a place to be missed!
If you want to experience pizza straight out the oven, come to Grimaldi’s you won’t regret it. The Pizza Is made with love with all the toppings to choose from. The crust is thin and easy to eat. The environment is a fun family setting with projected screens on each side of the walls. ???? fantastic pizzeria that all must try. Enjoy
