I love this place. Yes it’s diner food and not to speak bad but it’s a cook who is preparing your food and not a chef.
I come for the view mostly while I sip something cool
Excellent food. Excellent service. I had the salmon. It was cooked perfectly. I had the Russian honey cake for desert. Perfect end to a wonderful meal.
Great entertainment. Not the best Russian food in the area but location is nice. In the summer it is a nice place to stop by to have lunch.
Went to a birthday party, and could believe it... endless wonderful food, delicious Lamb Shank/Steak.
Live performances of folk dance and singing... a big surprise, and rare experience in NYC! Everyone loved it.
Call and ask what their occupancy for the night in question is before putting down your card. It may be Friday, it may be Saturday, but call and ask, and also confirm that there is an acrobatic show (the schedule isn’t posted nor is it consistent).
They are very nice people, and there are several delicious dishes, but if you’re looking for the crowded/club vibe, just make sure ahead of time that you’ll get it by asking about occupancy, or whatever you need to ask to make sure they’ll have guests.
If they don’t have a lot of reservations, wait, and be wary of putting down a card unless you understand that you’ll have the experience that you’re looking for.
No harm asking for what you want and making sure you get it.
