Really delicious, gourmet Chinese dishes - akin to "real" Chinese food you might get in Chinatown or, indeed, China. We tried the soup dumplings, mock eel (don't let the name put you off - it was probably the highlight), and a couple of noodle dishes. This was plenty of food for three people - the bill came to around $100 with drinks.
The vibe of the place is very Williamsburg... so unpretentious that it somehow manages to be a bit pretentious, but equally charming. The staff were genuinely friendly and warm, and helpful when it came to questions about the menu. The service was quick, too. Cocktails were fantastic as well!
The oyster mushrooms are standout - they are lightly crispy, kind of tempura style, and they have this dry spice (Sichuan peppercorn?) that is addictive. Long beans are also seared perfectly and have lots of soy umami. Go from 5-7 for a dinner deal!
Really great dim sum. Delicious soup dumplings. Scallion Pancakes! Pork! Noodles! And the cocktail was fantastic! Would definitely recommend. Cozy as well.
Went into dinner thinking it’d be “white people’s Chinese food” (sorry but with a Chinese mom I tend to be judgey). Was way happily surprised with the dank shrimp toast and many mushroom noodles. Updated but authentic. So good. Would definitely recommend!
Take out review: they do a great job packaging the food for take out with the sauces separate even for the peanut noodles. Not too oily which is my main complaint with similar restaurant. Lots of character and fun in the dishes
