Great service and owner was very kind.
NYC needs a good Burmese restaurant. This is a Burmese-style restaurant and as such it's ok. The green tea salad is a good *approximation* but it lacks the punch that comes with roasted chilli flakes in the more authentic places. Alas, NYC doesn't have what Boston area Yoma offers, or Toronto, or the West coast. This restaurant is a nice hip Burmese-style spot. But I will keep looking.
So so delicious. Highly recommend! Tea leaf salad and chicken curry were amazing. Great service and owner was very kind. I’ll definitely be back.
Order the tea leaf salad!
The best food I have had in months! The tea leaf salad was bursting with flavor, and the tomatoes and chickpeas were perfect accents. The prawn curry was uncomplicated and full of flavor but not overwhelmingly spicy. Shrimp were soft and perfectly cooked. The real show-stopper was the lemongrass fish soup, with its oozy boiled eggs and crunchy sweet fried onion fritter. The dried shrimp relish with slices of cucumbers was great on its own drizzled with lime, but also a nice fishy salty accent to the curry and soup. Even the plain white rice was cooked to perfection. Will absolutely be ordering from here again and telling my friends.
