Very high quality for reasonable prices. Ordered the chicken special and it was excellent. I especially appreciate the petite options. The desserts were especially good.
Food. Is good and service also good but the 5 star is mostly for dessert. You HAVE to buy a dessert even if your full. And there is a small portion and full portion. Small portion is good size.
A bit of an upscale place but prices are very reasonable. We had lunch and the menu provided many good choices. Of course many folks come here for the wide variety of great deserts.
This place is super unique and was perfect for the wife and me when we were in the mood for just dessert and coffee (spiked of course). There is a lot of seating and the service is extremely on point. The waitress was very attentive without being oppressive. The place also has a nice intimate feel even when crowded.
When a friend recommended Phillips European for a late dinner or dessert and coffee during my last visit to Rochester, I was looking forward to it. It had been many years since I had been there but, I remember the food and dessert being amazing. It seems a lot has changed. We weren't sure if we wanted dinner or just dessrt (it was like 8pm or 9pm on a Friday). We decided on vegetable soup and dessert because neither of us were that hungry. They had sold out of the New England Clam Chowder and the Lobster bisque, which I remember them for, was not an option. The soup came out hot but, we both returned it because it tasted like it came from a can. Dessert (I had the Boston Cream Pie torte; my friend had the chocolate mousse cup) was just okay. Nothing to recommend to anyone. I was saddened by the experience. I will say our server was very attentive and friendly and even gave us tips on things to do that weekend.
