We had 7 people in our party, 6 adults for the buffet. We were sat at a booth, which was not very conducive to people easily getting up and going to the buffet whenever they were ready. The food was okay. I wasn't expecting the elaborate spread they had at the old restaurant, but I was hoping the quality would still be as good. I was disappointed. The eggs Benedict was hard; the eggs and the muffins. The chicken was really dry. I did really like the French toast casserole and the mimosas though. I would like to give it another chance, but definitely do not want to go sit in a booth again with that many people.

We had a great experience at Marios. The food was excellent and the service was excellent by our waitress Brianna P. She was very professional and accommodating. Thank you for a great evening.

30 years ago when they had the single location on East Ave, they were one of the few good Italian places in the city. I feel like everything since has been a dog and pony show for Italian food that doesn't want to offend anyone, but lacks on the major notes of Italian food.

The latest Mario's iteration served a buffet brunch that ran the gamut of every type of meal. None of it great, none of it bad. It was a buffet though, so you can't serve anything signature, and I appreciate that fact. The food was fine, but the damning thing was the greens and beans.

Greens and beans are incredibly easy to make right. There's only a few ingredients and it's a dish that lends itself to mass-quantities a-la-buffet. It was bland. For a dish that is supposed to highlight garlic in almost overpowering fashion, there was little more than a hint. To me, this is inexcusable if you claim to be an Italian restaurant.

Being a Sicilian who cooks frequently, I'm brutally harsh on Italian places. When you've grown up with a steady diet of from-scratch Italian food, it's difficult to find a restaurant to hit that note.

All this said, the place looked nice. It was clean. The staff was friendly and attentive, which is super difficult to do in a feeding frenzy such as brunch. It was crowded, but I think they did a reasonable job given the conditions. Just give me a reason to want the food.

New Review: (June 2019) Being the lover of Italian food I am, we have gone back a few times and I'm glad to say our first experience was seemingly an isolated issue. We have gone back multiple times and love the homemade pasta! Recipes have been perfected and the Alfredo is to die for!!! So happy our initial visit was just a fluke bad night. I however, do still stand by my original issue with the salad bar and cost as well as getting up to get your own bread sticks and such which is nice, but when you're disabled can be a challenge. Last time though our server offered to bring us bread without us ever even asking her which was awesome! It as such a help and so appreciated because it was a busy night and we were seated pretty far from the break area. :)

While the food was good, the prices were highly unfavorable. With each dish being close to twenty dollars, an extra three dollars for a salad is inexcusable, especially when you have to get up and go to a salad bar to get your own salad versus having a nice one brought to your table. That alone doesn't fit the feel and type of restaurant. It's also no secret that this is a huge gripe of most people who've gone and said they won't go back any time soon (which is the case for everyone I know who has been). It's sad because Mario's was so good in their old location, but the new location is very cheapskate feeling to the point of a major fault. It's not impossible to successfully run a restaurant without denying your customers the very basic of amenities. It felt like we were more of a special sap than a special guest.
