I had a wonderful experience at the Public Provisions after seeing Michele Ashlee-Meade’s work at the The-Yard-Collective tonight.
Caitlin took great care of me 💙 I tried the Mando salad, Crispy chicken circle. It was absolutely delicious !! I have come here before for breakfast (which is also wonderful) but this is my first time for dinner. The Food was fresh, tasty and good portions.
Thank you Caitlin, I appreciate you taking the time to educate me on the menu and for making this a wonderful dining experience 🙏🏾💙🙏🏾
The Chicken Circle included greens, and butter potatoes. “Unbelievable” is the only word I can think of. I couldn’t eat all of it so I took some home for a snack tomorrow. Like I said, in the review, great portion size.
This Mando salad was delectable 😋 I could have had it for a meal it was that good 👍🏾
Public Provisions "knocks it out of the park". Simple & sophisticated at the same time. I have stopped by two times in a couple of weeks and cannot wait to go back. Dinner & breakfast on a Public Market shopping day. I challenge anyone to try & walk out hungry. That won't be a thing. Kudos to chef Broman & his team.
Wanted some clean delicious eats the day after thanksgiving.
This place was perfect: shared delicious calamari, scallops over sourdough toast w spinach and other veggies plus a delicious wheat berry risotto in ramp butter, and the delicata squash salad. Even the fries are first press Potato. The cauliflower and falafel are also top notch. And get the derby bar for dessert! Plenty of space to breathe and enjoy.
Thanks for the delicious nourishing meal and friendly service.
First visit, an unbusy Saturday evening. Immediate vibe was positive with an attentive staff at the ready. Nicely curated food and drinks menu. We shared an order of fries. These weren’t just fries, but FRIES of the gods. Wow, best fries we’ve ever had and we’re unabashed fries snobs. Came with five dipping sauces, all quite yummy, but the fries didn’t need them. We followed with Veggie Bibimbap, Compressed Salad and two had Crispy Chicken Circle. The Bibimbap and chicken dishes were excellent. The salad dish was enjoyed but needed a little something to prick the buds more. Service throughout was outstanding. We will be back. Especially for the fries.
Great stuff:
Fantastic food, easily one of the best in Rochester. Menu feels refined for such a new restaurant. Don’t let the sticker shock you everything is so worth it. The dishes have unique and wonderful flavor combination. I would try anything here even if it was something I typically wouldn’t like. The pork shop and short rib are absolutely amazing.
Good but not great stuff:
$10 for a beer is excessive.
The burger is good but doesn’t hold up to the rest of the menu. Service has been mostly good but it’s a new restaurant and there will be some growing pains there. My last 2 visits were the server was fantastic.
Overall:
Fantastic for a brand new restaurant. Will continue to come here regularly. Excited to see how this place grows and evolves as it establishes its self of one of the best restaurants in Rochester.
