Valbrook Diner

This was my regular diner for many years before finally leaving the area just recently. I know I'll miss it, and where I'm going (Arizona) I'm having a hard time finding anywhere that looks like a suitable replacement for a go-to lunch place.

I've tried many diners in the Valley Stream area, and Valbrook has the best combination of great comfort food, huge portions (you can often get two full meals out of one dish), a comfortable atmosphere, reasonable prices and friendly staff. In short, it's everything you want a traditional diner to be.

Highlights are the omelets, pancakes, burgers, fish (any fish dish in the lunch special section is going to be awesome), paninis, and pastrami. I'm definitely going to miss their pastrami, which you can get a bunch of different ways.

Thanks to everyone there for many years of great good and atmosphere. I'm sorry we had to leave!

One of my favorite places since I was a kid. It's a classic diner; no frills. Good specials, fair prices, and willing to make changes if you ask.

Always an awesome place to have food. The entire place is very clean, and the owners are always so nice. I never received any food that I didn’t like but the thing that makes me going back is the PANCAKES! Oh man they are sweet and amazing. I have brought my friends here for the pancakes, I can say easiest some of the best I have had.

This is a long time popular spot probably mostly due to location and general atmosphere. Staff is pleasant and attentive. Food is ok. On my last visit, I asked for French fries and got home fries. I asked for cranberry juice and never received it.

It's been my 2nd time here and I'd have to say the food is pretty decent compared to most diners I've visited. The staff is really attentive and kind when you need something. Clean and very spacious. Kid friendly and it feels comfortable. Recommend going!
