Matteo's of Roslyn

We came here on a Monday night for early Valentine's day celebration.

The decore is nice but the music was very loud and playing very fast. It gave me a headache instantly.

We ordered the following:

Appetiters:

Calamari
Zucchini

Nothing special

Main course:

Linguine and Clams with white sauce(Large family size) - VERY disappointed, liguine was dry, I did not see or find any clams in the order. Keep in mind, this is a LARGE family size order. This is one dish that you just can not screw up.

Chicken Marsala (Large family size) - Again, VERY disappointed, the chicken was dry and the sauce was very salty.

Filter of Sole(Regular size) - This was only dish that was good.

Shrimp Scampi(Regular size) - We did not touch the rice. The shrimp was good.

Dessert:

Chocolate Cake - This was well made and enjoyable.

The server was very polite and very easy to talk with.

The food, there is much to be desired especially we came here because of the very good reviews from folks.

Not a big fan of family style this is The king of family style food restaurants food is cold by the time you get it and wasn't really especially good

Good food. Great service. Good atmosphere

The truffle pasta was delicious. The interior decor is lovely and romantic as well as fancy, and the prices on the menu are definitely reasonable for the service at atmosphere. Lots of pastas to choose from and large portions with the option of family style for most.

I'm not a big fan of spending a lot of money on Italian food. Matteo's is a bit more than I like to spend on Italian but it might be worth the money. That being said Matteo's offers most of it's dishes in 3 sizes which makes sharing or trying new dishes easier. They have a great staff and a so so wine list. The food is excellent and if you have a special occasion and want Italian I can see heading over to Matteo's.
