Food was tastier years ago.. it's good but i was disappointed the last 2 times. Pappardelle dish would have been tasty but the sausage they put in it had a bad smell to it. Mushroom risotto was not creamy
Food is good, just way overpriced for what you get. It's really nothing special. For the price, you should be blown away. I was not. You can find better Italian cuisine in Long Island for a 4th of the price, you’re paying for the zip code.
Been to this Il Mulino location before and have also dined at their Manhattan and San Juan location. We were a table or four Sat night 10/20 and sat down at 8:15 which is the time we had reserved. We ordered drinks and 20 minutes later the waiter was very rude telling us that we had to order right away. We told him that we weren’t ready and that we would take a look at the menu. I had asked him what was the rush and he said that there were a lot of tables full with many orders. He wasn’t happy with the answer. We felt under pressure that we had to order right away. When he came back 10 minutes later I told him that we feel like we are being rushed and he continued to be rude and didn’t back off saying that they were very busy. Appetizers and dinner eventually came with no rush. Not sure why the waiter had such a bad attitude and it didn’t seem like they were trying to turn the table over. I always tip 20% or more. This time only 15%. Food is excellent but not in a rush to go back since the way we were treated.
There aren't enough stars around to give this exquisite Italian restaurant. The place is elegant and romantic. The service is superb by wait staff in white tie tuxedos. The food is generous and delicious: There are many great choices of appetizers, soup, entrees and desserts. Our party each had something different. Go the evenings there is a fixed price menu for $39. It includes 4 courses--a variety of options. The large room was full yet unlike so many restaurants these days, the noise level was low due to the sound absorbing decor. We could all have a decent conversation, even across the table. There is valet parking if no spot is available on the street.
