    Star diner has been closed for over a year, just opened as the Hicksville diner run by the same owners that ran the Star diner before 2003 and sold the Star 2003. The place looks great very clean inside -out ,food and service are very good. The new owners seem determined to make this place one of the best diners around it's worth a trip to check it out.???? Disregard any reviews before April 2019 this is a whole new place and much better .

    This diner is now called Hicksville Diner. Not Star Diner anymore. The new management used to manage Farmingdale Diner. They are truly the best. Top notch Family owned place. We always feel at home when we are here. The food is always great. Try the mozzarella stick. They are made on site by James. Thanks Steve see ya soon.

    Reopened and under management by previous owner.

    So glad the diner, previously known as Star, has reopened as the Hicksville Diner. We had lunch there and were pleasantly surprised to be welcomed by the original owners (the ones who knew had to run a business). The food is great, but more importantly, the diner is clean again, and the staff is professional as well as efficient and friendly.

    Please do not let the negative reviews, that the Star diner received, color your choice to eat here.
