Very good. Don't let the strip mall fool you. Exotic menu.
This review is for their take out only. Dine in may be a different experience. They prepared the food very quickly and I didn’t have to wait at all. However, nothing else really stood out and their soggy house special fried rice was particularly underwhelming.
Love the savory chicken (beware it's bone in) with glass vermicelli noodles and long mushrooms in a brown stew served in a warming bowl! Pork scallion dumplings were great too, but I think the wrapper is too thick. Plenty of parking in the plaza.
Update: Get the pork, egg, chive dumplings pan seared! So good! Lamb/onions/scallions were really good too, as well as the slightly crunchy green beans. The hot & sour soup is kind of oily.
Although I don’t live in the Syosset area anymore, I visit Beijing House for a reliable Chinese meal whenever I am in town. The thing that my family and I have always enjoyed is the consistent quality of the food beyond staple items like fried noodles and rice. Whether it is fish or eggplant or spinach, we have never had a bad meal here. In addition, the food is flavorful but not overly salty. Some restaurants seem to load up on salt, perhaps to mask a lack of organic flavor in their dishes, but we have found Beijing House to be a pleasant exception. We particularly recommend trying their dumplings and fish with vegetables.
