Gray's Papaya

Omg I love this place. I have been coming here since I was a kid. Either with my dad or my friends after school. This place is a gem. So historic, great story. Good food. What's not to love. In fact probably going here tomorrow again for lunch.. mouth watering.

The hot dog I had at Gray’s Papaya was probably the best I’ve had in the entire city. Not only are they hot on the grill when you get there, but they are also 100% beef. Your hot dog comes within seconds so there’s no long wait for your frankfurter.

I've been a fan of Grey's for quite some time. Having first grown-up and then worked for 20 years New York City, Gray's was a staple for us.

I hadn't been over into Manhattan for quite some time years really, and when the wife and I were overweight one night I said let's go give it a shot.

Still the hot dogs I remember but I think their pricing has gone through the roof, especially given that we are talking about what is essentially a cheap hot dog.

Still, for anyone who's visiting the city and never been it's an experience one needs to try.

This is my hot dog place the last couple of times I've been to NYC. I enjoy it more than Papaya King. The papaya drink here has a little better mouth feel and taste. Plus I think the dogs are more consistently prepared. At the end of the day it's a great cheap way to grab a classic bite of NYC.
