2nd time here and food is amazing. From appetizers to entrees everything is delicious. A great time guaranteed
Everything on the main plates was delectable, but the star of the show was the smoked pork neck. Expect a high meat to vegetable/starch ratio in any main, but we countered this with the best salad (which was perfectly crisp and dressed with a vinaigrette) and the celery root salads (which was far too heavy on the mayo for my taste). The service was European and quite hands off, but not unpleasantly or unexpectedly so. Unless you're previously familiar with the cuisine (which it seemed like most of the diners were, I think our party was the only group not speaking Serbian in the restaurant) the menu is quite nondescriptive of what to expect, but we enjoyed it all regardless.
Kafana is one of the best places in Mew York City if you are looking for great food from Balkan region. Super friendly staff and cool energy. Affordable prices and good for family lunch and dinner.
Great place with traditional Serbian food. We need more like this restaurant in the city. Just to spice things up (in case you are tired of the Chinese, Italian, Korean, Thai, Mexican)! More diversity is always better! Loved it! The only thing I might change is the portions, they are too big. If they were smaller they could even be cheaper, cause to be honest it is pricey! Don't get dishes for each person. Share!
