Its nice and the food price is cheap. I love the chicken over rice with white sauce.
brightly lit food cart located on Delancey Street, close to the corn with Clinton St.
relatively newish to the area cart, itself, looks new and on top of the the cart has a moving LED sign advertising various things. the cart is open from the morning to late night. the cart sells coffee, grab-and-go bites (doughnuts, muffins, croissants, etc.), grilled items like cheeseburgers, falalfel sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken over rice, etc.).
PRO TIP: none of the menu has prices on it. ask how much whatever you want before ordering. the protein + rice should be $6, nothing more.
i've had the chicken over rice ($6). you get a standard serving of marinated spiced chicken over a seasoned rice, accompanied by a small lettuce & tomato salad. all of it will be topped by a thick yogurt sauce and/or red chili sauce...you can opt for either sauce, both, or neither. the chicken is moist and well cooked on the grill. it has nice flavor, not aggressive. the rice is fairly tender, but a bit less fluffy than i like. the rice has a little bit more chew than other Halal carts i go to. the small salad on the side is crunchy. the white sauce is a bit thicker than other ones i've had, but has that smooth tang that pulls the chicken and rice together, nicely.
tbh, the food at this cart is good. the chicken over rice really should be $5 as they are at other nearby carts (like the one on Delancey near Essex St. you don't really get more food for $6 and other carts you get food + a canned soda for $5.
this cart has a variety of juices, sodas, and bottled water for those who are thirsty.
drops mic cuz forking up food like a savage
