Tremendously upscale restaurant in the ground floor of a limestone UES house. Extensive wine list, starting in the $80’s and going up to the $4000’s.
We tried the venison and rack of lamb (allegedly for two but easily for three) and they were exquisite. The shell steak, a sirloin cut folded and cooked whole, was also tremendous - easily beating the average manhattan steakhouse at the same price.

    Highly recommended for any occasion.

Very fine restaurant with good service and tasty Italian cuisine. Each and every dish we ordered were deliciously prepared with attractive presentation . Very extended list of Daily Specials . We enjoyed the ambiance and seasonal decorations. It is always a challenge to serve party of more than 6-8 persons. Our party of 20 ! was served in a timely manner and everything was delivered almost at the same time, freshly prepared. It was not our first time at this NYC culinary gem , and each and every time food was consistently tasty with unusual sophisticated twist of Italian cuisine. Definitely place for repeated visits!

We hadn't been to Sistina in 4 years and they have moved to a rather from a storefront on 2nd Avenue where they spent 30 years to a gorgeous townhouse between Madison & Fifth Avenue. Everything about it is first class though I was comfortable in a button down shirt & sweater. Food is wonderful. I had an artichoke soup then halibut. Dale had figs & proscutto then pasta with clam sauce. Service was first rate. We really liked it and will return.

Very good food. Absolutely Perfect service . Expensive ... is the only downside. Very good portions. Beautiful wine choices. Comfortable ambience of a fine restaurant in Rome.
