I order the chicken and waffle with mac & cheese as a side order. The chicken was the best I've ever had. The mac & cheese was the way good mac & cheese is supposed to taste (it could have been more, for sure). I love the waffles the taste and amount more than enough. The drink I order was a tease for the price. My Cousin and I chose the right time of day to visit. (Before 12 p.m without a reservation- 15 min. wait) On the way out, though it was crowded with people waiting and coming in. The waitress was attentive and the live music in the background was cool. It was a beautiful visit with my Cousin. I was truly satisfied.

Great food and lives up to the name. I would definitely suggest the mashed potatoes with gravy and the southern fried chicken. The rum punch was pretty strong and is very good. A great spot to go if you’re around central Harlem, but the wait times can be plenty.

Best fried chicken ever!! Dining room has probably been the same for 20 years. That lends to creating a home like atmosphere. Birthdays are celebrated with serenade and acknowledgment for the whole restaurant to witness. Really enjoyed the live music.

Best restaurant in Harlem. What do you mean this place will put heaven in your mouth this place has the best fried chicken on the planet and mac n cheese.Anyone that says this place is bad you don't know what soul food is.This place deserves 5.0 5 stars. There customer service is delightful and the music and the pictures give you a good classical vibe. This place is the definition of soul food. If Sylvia was still here she the queen of soul food would be at her house crunching on that juicy fried chicken. Who ever is reading this Kendra Z you don't know who wrote this but

    This was a joke

Heard wonderful reviews of Sylvia's and once I was in the area I knew I needed to try it out. It did not disappoint. Excellent extremely fresh and homemade food. I enjoyed fresh fried chicken with mash potatoes and cornbread. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted great. Prices were high but for NYC they were reasonable. Service was efficient, helpful and very accurate. Parking was difficult as it always is in NYC. Easy to see from the busy street. Excellent handicap access with no steps.
