Keens Steakhouse

One of my favorite steakhouses in the city. I was super excited when indoor dining opened again and I could take my friends to this incredible restaurant. Unfortunately, this was not the typical Keens experience. The waitstaff on the second floor dining room were clearly busboys, far from the superior service, friendliness and acumen from the usual Keens staff. They also rushed you to order, which does not make sense as we were at 7:30 pm seating. I expect much more for a $600 dinner. The saving grace here is the food, as always, but the entire experience definitely suffered from the substandard service. I recommend waiting on the main dining room for a better experience.

Lobster bisque was so warm and yummy after long flight and walking in cold weather. Highly recommendable this as a hot appetizer.
Since I had two big plates, I couldn’t try any longer their coffee or desserts but I will have it for next visit and with some more accompanies, not alone. The waiters were kind enough. Thanks!

With COVID, it seems like people are nicer, and the wait staff at Keens is no exception. They were engaged and invested, and did what they could to make our lunch celebrating my sister’s 50th birthday as special as it could be. Their steak is till topnotch. The only downer (not Keen’s fault) was that the weather was so cold the food got cold fast. Can’t wait to have a meal inside one of the second-floor rooms again and have a cocktail at their famous bar

Amazing steakhouse... I work in the city and have inherently been to quite a number of steakhouses... When considering ambiance, history, location, atmosphere, and food quality - it is hard to beat out Keens in NYC. Make sure you try the mutton chop at least once in your life... quite the unusual cut of lamb but with a try!

I’ve been here for mainly work related dinners - but can certainly see myself coming here for pleasure as well.

Great lunch. Drinks on point. Lambchops perfectly cooked. Great service. Waiters were attentive without being overbearing. Can't wait to come back. The years of service so easily seen here.
