So. I’m putting five stars because I don’t want their rating to go down and maybe because my order was just a fluke, but it was a pretty bad experience.
Red flag number one was that the tacos didn’t have a double tortilla (?!) so on the first bite, it just fell apart. The meat (carne asada) had a strange taste profile to it. It almost tasted a bit like curry. And it was cooked medium, which is not the normal for carne asada tacos. The guac on the side that I ordered was insanely salty. Like, SALTY. Everything was cold, I had to throw into my microwave. Wrong beverage order. Forgotten side. I’m so disappointed. My stomach was just not having it twenty five minutes after. I read so many great reviews and looked at great photos, so again, my order is probably a fluke, it happens, but I hope next time will be an experience that’s a thousand times better.
Authentic Mexican Fast Food - I had al pastor and cochinita pibil tacos (National Taco Day Special). They were delicious, plenty of meat and seasoning. My only gripe is the price but given the pandemic situation, they deserve every last penny and the tip. I'll definitely go there again. My partner had a mushroom and squash blossom burrito and really enjoyed it. It wasn't dry and packed flavor. It was one of the best burritos she's had in the area.
Came back here during the pandemic. Great location near the train. Menu was a limited version of itself, but the food here is great for a meal or a quick snack to go. Cocktails are even better, Margaritas and Palomas.
As a German I'm not quite an instance in Mexican food but I know what's good food. This place not only offers the best Mexican dishes I've ever had the joy off getting stuffed with. I also love this place for its design and feel. Still dream of this place
I LOVE this place. I have lived in this neighborhood for a while and have seen a few restaurants come and go at this corner, never able to stay in business. This place has stayed for a reason.
The food is some of the absolute best Mexican food I have ever had. I watch them cook their meats and the way the prepare is amazing. Such flavorful dishes. The pricing is great. Their drink menu is also top notch.
The ambiance is great too. Fun music and there is always an eclectic crowd of locals. I feel like this is quickly becoming a small landmark for Harlem.
