The best kale salad of my life and the food in general is always up to par. The ambience is always chic but fun. Love how close it is to the park.
Came for breakfast, so wasn't quite sure what to expect. The menu online, quite honestly, looked rather standard, but well, I was lazy and didn't want to go too far for breakfast.
Coffee: just a regular coffee, black. It was steaming hot, and decent. No issues. Plenty of refills.
Fruit plate: large, with quite an assortment of fruit. All were pleasantly fragrant and sweet.
Avocado toast: I shamelessly got both the smoked salmon and poached egg additions. I couldn't decide, and was rewarded amply by alternating bites of each. Excellently seasoned and the chili flakes offset the richness of the toast and toppings very nicely. 10/10 would do it again, toppings and all.
Sausages: tried both the pork and herb sausage (very nice) and the chicken and jalapeno. Ended up with a second order of the chicken as this was an excellent sausage. Would have eaten more if I could.
Overall, one of the best breakfasts I've had. Ambiance and service were pleasant. Staff was unobtrusive, but attentive. Would definitely come again if I'm in the area.
Happy New York City Restaurant Week 21.
Welcome to the Big Apple.
The Nougatine at Jean-Georges located at 1 Central Park West is one of my favorite restaurants in New York City, especially during NYC Restaurant Week.
The 5 stars rating is deserving to The Nougatine at Jean-Georges because of their continual efforts to ensure the customers have a pleasant dining experience. A majority of the staff is excellent, and they do it all with a smile. The other staff members carry the "I don't really want to be here attitude".
The decor is nicely done and it gives the restaurant a cozy and friendly look. I prefer the tables with a view, so we have a window table.
The views from the window seats are of Central Park and Central Park South and Columbus Circle. To the South of Central Park South, you can see the new constructions on Billionaire 's Row, which is the un official name for West 57th Street.
The very best.......
