Went on Valentine’s Day for a late lunch. The restaurant was very quiet and our server was very sweet. It was not too big or too small inside. Cozy and dimly lit- we sat in the window but it was not cold.
We started with some Sapporo and the soup dumplings. They were delicious.
I got the pork with pan fried noodles and my boyfriend got the shredded pork with garlic sauce. Both dishes had very different flavors and were delicious. The shiitake mushrooms in my dish were slammin and the dish with garlic sauce was loaded with water chestnuts, and I love those.
As the sun set, the place filled up with a variety of locals. The service was received was still attentive and sweet.
We ordered another round of Sapporo and picked at our remaining dishes til we were stuffed. We skipped dessert and got the rest of our food packed up to take home.
Solid experience- would return. Next time I want to try the ribs.
Pig Heaven is a high end Chinese spot in the Upper East Side with such amazing Chinese food. I had the soup dumpling and they were so flavorful and had so much taste to it. They give you a generous amount- about 6 dumplings to be exact so it is a good appetizer to share with someone. For entree i got the small spare pork ribs which brought 6 pieces and my sister had the eggplant and chicken in garlic sauce. Each meal brought rice on the side which made it the perfect combo. I loved how the eggplant and chicken came in a little cute hot pot.
Came across this spot by walking past it couple times . Decided to finally give this a shot . Place is very welcoming and loved the ambiance. The name speaks for it self!! Decided to try their special items like BBQ
Spare Ribs and the Hot Pot Beef . We also tried the Soup Dumplings and PopCorn shrimp . I actually loved everything. And the service is extraordinarily fast. Also the dishes are huge portions. You get your value for your money

I never once felt like I was in “Pig Heaven” apart from the back wall showcasing a pig image. This place was memorable in a bad way.
The waitress was hectic as she answered to the only other table with customers on a Friday night. We had a mediocre excuse for fried rice (bland), a soup that felt like they had just poured leftover chicken stock on some greens, and a rack of ribs that felt as if they had been defrosted and microwaved. The ribs were so tough we only ate 2 (they looked good on the picture though).
The place is elegant as opposed, but the food and the service were as bad as I’ve ever had. I’ll be glad to go out of my way to go to China-town instead, after such a bad experience.
