Luckily, my NYC friend knew this place existed. Fabulous sandwiches. Meat, lettuce, cheese all fresh. Homemade bread. So much to chose from. Recommend highly. Wish it was near me!
A friend took me here for lunch. The choices were amazing. I decided on a sandwich which was devine right down to the homemade bread. Such a little secret in NYC. Highly recommend.

This is an unassuming place on 9th Avenue, squashed in between a smoke shop and something else. It's very easy to miss and we certainly would have passed by if it hadn't been for a friend stopping in to purchase a salad.
The menu is written on the chalkboard wall and seems to cover all sorts of Italian sandwiches under the sun. I was immediately drawn to the fig and prosciutto sandwich - which sounds like an odd pairing-- but worked wonderfully. My partner- although he now can't remember what he ordered-- absolutely loved it as well.
We also bought a 1.5 liter San Benedetto ice tea. At $5, it seems pricey, but when we returned to the hotel room to eat, it was an amazing drink! We would actually return to this location to pick up more tea for the trip home.
I feel my review doesn't really doesn't really do justice to how great this place is, but I would certainly return in a heartbeat.
Sergimmo continues to deliver the best traditional Italian foods in Midtown. The bread, sandwiches, fillings, cured meats, and hot dishes are all absolutely delicious. A go-to for all sorts of neighborhood folks, regularly drawing customers from 40 blocks away. Oh man, now I'm going to have to go get another sandwich tomorrow 😊
Took my Italian uncle (RIP Uncle
Pete) here—he is VERY picky about what’s “truly Italian”—and this place made the list. He loved it (as did I). Super fresh ingredients, nice staff. Couldn’t ask for more.
