Stunning, great experience. I love essential and tasty food. This is the place. You call and pre-order (and pay upfront -we had the dinner menu).. they buy only the fish you need and is so fresh that for Manhattan is a real exception (unless you go in a 1000$ place). I’ll add pics because no comments can validate as much the place, just look at the color of the fish meet (the odd looking one is yolk and sea urchin, I loved it)
This place is fantastic. It rivals Michelin star places at a fraction of the cost. You are missing out by not trying this place out. Do not judge a book by its cover.
I had one of the best experiences of my life here. Decided to book myself an early birthday solo adventure and it was worth every penny.
The intimate setting made for a more interesting dinner and the fish was top notch. Can’t recommend Tanoshi enough.
Incredibly low-key and intimate setting, no elaborate decor or anything. Frankly, it was the most delicious sushi I’ve ever had, with many styles and combinations I’ve never tasted before, but it was too pricy for me.
I used to eat lunch and dinner here sometimes. The fish dish is quite tasty.
There used to be an old Japanese lady who always look very happy. Not sure if she is the owner. One night I went there alone and was quite sad. She kept giving me food for free. Unfortunately I haven't seen her ever since. Hope everything is well for her
