Really cool subterranean bar that slightly embodies a speakeasy. I loved the ambiance and overall vibe though the drinks were average.
It’s a good space, a good atmosphere, but $9 for a Naragansett? I can get a six pack of Gansett for that same price. Overpriced, even for Manhattan.
The tippler is a pretty fun place to go to for a drink after a long day of checking out Chelsea market, the apple store and/or the Starbucks reserve (which are fairly cool to check out in their own right).
There are a few other bars in the area and west village that are a bit cheaper if you are feeling adventurous, but the ambience and experience is tough to beat here.
The entrance is a bit tough to find so your phone GPS is your friend, and there's no reception as the location is in the (spacious) basement. Tends to get crowded on the weekends as well.
Brought my Boyfriend here for dinner. We happened to catch the sunset then see the city lights light up. The views here are definitely something worth seeing. The food and drinks we ordered were delicious. Will definitely come back here.
