Good food to try. Be aware they check for vaccination card. Fast service. Our waitress (woman, dark hair) was a little sharp. I guess they are use to serve people that are familiar with their menu. It would be nice more direction from them to understand or encourage to try different flavors.
So, do your research before trying this place to be able to order what you may like. We were fine, just because we eat everything, we are very adventurous.

A like when a restaurant knows exactly what it wants to be. I had a good feeling as I walked in, because it was tucked away, away from noisy streets, a rarity in the city. The interior matched perfectly my expectations - a cozy, wood covered room reminiscent of old Europe. It felt just like the restaurants I visited in Hungary and the Czech Republic (not Ukraine, I know, but in the vicinity in terms of cuisine and landscape). One of the few places in the city where you can get a warm, comforting Eastern European meal, with great taste, large portions, and fair pricing.

Hi everyone 🙂 I’m Ukrainian and it’s my first time in NYC. Of course I decided to visit famous Ukrainian restaurant in America. I will be honest with you - the food is extremely delicious! Better than in most of restaurants in Ukraine.

I gave Veselka 5 stars 3 years ago. After a dozen + midnight meals here, I still give it 5 stars. The staff are wonderful and the seasonal dishes are excellent. You can come here after a concert or before work and it's always as welcoming. Stay strong Veselka!

Where do I begin?!
Best comfort food, excellent quality, friendly, family owned, they deliver and I have been eating there for over 30 years. So happy its going strong! Don't forget about taking a loaf of bread, a soup, sides or amazing desserts home. Everything is made in-house and is so delicious.

My grandmother used to cook like this and now I can go and sit down at Veselka and feel like a child around the holiday table with all the wonderful food memories and smells of Eastern Europe.
