Good N Easy Gas Station

Address: 1400 Whitesboro St, Utica, NY 13502, USA

Restaurant

“Typical corner store but add a overpriced gas pump. My last choice at getting gas, but it's open late so it can be convenient. Always going to be packed. Usually always going to be a line. Personally, I won't ever try the food from here again after a terrible terrible experience with some pizza(if you can call it that) &fries, but other people seem to like it. I'm judging it on convenience& whatnot though, as far as convenience store things go. Good for an in and out.”

“Excellent little spot hiding in the "brewery district" ordered the bocalao y yuca, some beef empanadas, and some hot wings. Glad that I got a picture of the bocalao because as soon as I tasted it, I couldn't stop! Delicious and hearty, really jammed with flavor!! The beef and cheese empanadas were excellent as well. I definitely underestimated the heat on the hot wings and ate about 4 before the heat got to me. Great taste and cooked perfectly. Staff was friendly too!”

Ricks Famous Juicy Burgers

Address: 421 Broad St, Utica, NY 13501, USA

Restaurant

“Everything was fantastic. Double Cheeseburger was amazing comparable to a five guys burger. The fries were definitely the second best fries I have ever had and the chocolate milk shake was phenomenal. Prices may seem expensive but when you compare it to a place like Five Guys the prices are about the same and you can definitely get some better food here for the price. Great job to the people at Ricks Famous!”

“I won't say they sell authentic Burmese food. Burmese style Naan and Boiled peas salad is one of my favorite. They served Thai dishes like Pha Kra Pao and Kuey Teow. Their noodle salad is a BOMB but don't forget to remind them to reduce spicy because they have big hand for spices. Beef fried rice is also good. I don't like their Mohinga. Tea is also more like Tea mix not home brew. They served Halal Meat.”

Bellagio Restaurant and Pizzeria

Address: 1216 Francis St, Utica, NY 13502, USA

Restaurant

“Fast and friendly service. I ordered a full Cuban sandwich. As I watched it being made, the owner told me that she has worked in pizzerias locally for years but is originally from south Florida and brought the perfect Cuban sandwich recipe that she grew up eating. She explained how she bakes her own bread for the Cuban so it holds up and gives a perfect crisp. She uses a homemade spread on the inside of the bread with two types of mustard and mayonnaise. Then gives full coverage of Swiss cheese on one side and layers slices of ham on the other. Then piles on a huge amount of pork which she explained she slow cooks a whole pork loin, then chops it up, and adds her own seasoning. Next is the hand diced pickles strewn inside. She then folds it shut and massages the top and bottom of outside in butter to prepare it for the panini press. This Cuban sandwich is fantastic. If you like a sandwich that gives your money’s worth in meat, and a consistency of texture and taste with every bite, then this is for you. Enjoy.”

The Spot

Address: 106 Bleecker St, Utica, NY 13501, USA

Restaurant

“Give it a shot, 'The Spot' will hit the spot! I came across this little gem as a random advertisement online today, and upon seeing their many enticing pictures, and the fact that it's about five minutes from both my home and my job, I figured I'd give it a try... Staff was friendly and welcoming, wait time was just as promised, prices were more than great for the quality, and the food was incredible! I got mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, and I've honestly never thought they were really all that different from one restaurant to another around here, but these were different. Crispiest I've ever seen, and seasoned with parmesan and parsley... a nice added touch to mozzarella sticks that I've ever actually seen before in my seven previous years of being an Italian restaurant employee. Their basic burgers/cheeseburgers are actually double burgers, and you tell them which toppings you want on them, with a dollar extra for bacon (do it), and when it comes to the crispy chicken sandwich, the piece of chicken is literally twice the size of the bun itself! All buns are toasted, unless ordered otherwise. Quality of all ingredients is top-notch without a doubt, just as promised! They have many other menu options that I didn't try yet, including Hershey brand milkshakes... so if any of my fellow local reviewers stop here, please share your experience! I'm certainly curious! I will however, mention that as a brand new restaurant, they're still perfecting their craft, but they're INCREDIBLY close to the mark. Constructive criticism is always important to help new restaurants thrive; so I must say that all they need to do to make absolute perfection is to cook the meats just a little bit lighter, and use the juicier Iceberg lettuce, rather than Romaine. Without a doubt, "The Spot" could be a spot that Utica will not soon forget! I wish the very best for the owners on their endeavor! I'll be back very soon.... again, and again, and again!”
