    Before a Race or Casino Entertainment this is a Great place to relax, enjoy a drink with a good choice of food.

    We went there for dinner in late March, before the racing season, and the restaurant was rather empty — just ourselves and a couple of other parties. We went not expecting too much, but were pleasantly surprised by very good food and service.

    The only real downside was the decor, which screamed "chain hotel" and it felt generic, unengaging and drab. After sitting down and taking in the spirit-numbing, conference-hotel setting, we began to dread what was coming next.

    But to our surprise, our server was prompt, experienced and didn't miss a beat. The real revelation, however, was the food. Maybe our low expectations gilded the lilly a bit, but the food clearly exceeded anything we anticipated receiving. It definitely rescued a dinner that what was at first looking to be a disappointment.

    Overall, the experience was a good one and we expect to go back when the racing season returns, so we can sample what things are like in full bloom.
