Mamacitas Puerto Rican Kitchen

We first found Mamacita's at a Great Northern Food Truck event over the summer. When we found out she opened a restaurant, we were there! Everything is delicious. Some of our faves: pastelon (the PR "lasagna") is phenomenal. The meat and cheese is so flavorful between the savory layers of plantains. If you see it on the specials, order it! Any of the Guisado dishes are to die for. Super flavorful, super tender meats in a delicious sauce, better than any American pot roast you've ever had. The empanadas have a crisp pastry crust enveloping tender chicken or beef seasoned just right. The rice that accompanies all the dishes is always cooked perfectly and would be delicious on its own. The bacalaito is light and crispy with just the right garlic and onion seasoning. The yuca was the best i ever had. Finally, ORDER THE LIME CILANTRO CREMA! Over the top delicious. I've had lots of crema in my time but this one is fantastic. Fresh and light and just the right amount of spice (fresh jalapenos maybe?) They need to bottle it and sell it cuz we would buy it by the gallon! :)

Lastly, the owner and her staff are so friendly and courteous. She even helped me carry takeout bags to my car. You won't feel like you're at a restaurant; you'll feel like you've been invited into someone's warm and welcoming home, and they've cooked you a delicious homemade meal. Do yourself a favor and go!

$10 pernil sandwich with chicken noodle soup. $5 empanada. A staff that cares about its customers and moves quickly during rushes. We will definitely be back!!! Best of luck to Ms. Mamacita and her business! So glad you're here.

Love when a specialty restaurant pops up and you don't have to fight downtown traffic & parking to try it.
Ordered a daily special of Bang Bang shrimp tacos w/ arroz con gandules and every day item pernil sandwich.
Both meals were cooked to order and barely cooled during the 10 minute drive back to the office.
The only surprising thing was the bang bang sauce. I assumed it would be the creamy sauce, whereas they used a sweet chili glaze. Still flavorful and delicious.

Very friendly staff, food was excellent. These were the best birria tacos I've had thus far! The consume took the tacos over the top!
Empanada were full of flavor and delicious. Tender meat in the inside, crunchy shell on the outside.
Although there was a bit of a wait the staff did their best to move orders along quickly. However, when the food is great who really minds the wait!
