Just moved in across the street. Extremely friendly staff, very helpful, they make you feel at home. Their cheese pizza is good, nothing spectacular. Sauce and cheese are solid, crust is a little too thick for a NY slice. Good calzones.
The pizza is amazing - arguably better than Mario and Sakvo's. They used to work at Pavone's back in the day, I hear. I can't compare the pizza to that at the other Pavones in town, but I don't see how any of them could be better. Definitely consider ordering the extra large. It's a great value, and just freeze what you can't finish. It's almost as good as it tastes at the parlor.
We entered the restaurant during the lunch hour and stood in the queue. There were many options to choose from- but we decided on getting 2 slices each. The slices came straight out of the oven - piping hot. The seating option was a row of booths. We enjoyed the delicious pizza and would definitely come back. It was reasonable, fresh and hot - bill was about $9.
We took 16 high school students to Syracuse for a college visit/mall trip. The pizza place that we were supposed to go to in the mall told us they couldn’t handle our pay-over-the-phone order two days prior to the trip. I called Pavone’s and they were wonderful! We ended up going there and the pizza was so great, and they were awesome to all of us. We visit a lot of places with students for college trips, but these guys impressed me!
