Nolan's on Canandaigua Lake

My sister in law made a reservation at Nolan’s 2 weeks ago for a Family Holiday reunion for Friday 12/8 for 8. Monday 12/4 she realized she made a mistake and it should have been for 10. She called to ask the “Director of First Impressions “ if they could add 2 seats to our table. Her very RUDE RESPONSE was “Absolutely Not”.. My sister in law then said that everyone would be willing to squeeze in and the DIRECTORS RESPONSE was “ARE YOU HARD OF HEARING OR DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT ABSOLUTELY NOT MEANS?. My wife and I have been in the Service Industry for over 30 years and worked for Professionals. I will do everything in my power to share this with as many people as I can.

Nolan's took our reservation the day of just a few hours before dinner. When we got there, we were seated a few minutes past our reservation time. The waitress took a lengthy time to come back and get our order (after checking to see if we were ready and we were not yet). There aren't too many wines served there that are actually made in the finger lakes so being a visitor, that was a bummer. The captains platter was actually a great deal. The steak was cooked perfectly, the lobster was portioned well, the veggies were cooked tenderly & the tomato basil dressing on the salad was delicious. The scallops were melt-in-your-mouth perfect. The penne was slightly over cooked. They serve a great bread. The jumbo shrimp and cocktail sauce had a nice spice. We ended the night with a peanut butter pie which was more like I thick buckeye filling but it was decadent. The staff was rushed but kind. Overall, our time at Nolan's was good and we left very satisfied.

Stopped today for Sunday lunch with my brother and sister, first time here. Everything was wonderful from beginning to finish. What a lovely place!! I'm glad we finally made it here.
I should add we had our anniversary dinner here several weeks ago. We both ordered the Kansas City strip which was a special. We both ate it all. It was perfect and so was our server, who sent us off with a very lovely dessert to eat at home since we were so full.
Reservations are a must here. This place is crazy busy with both locals and visiting tourists.

Fantastic service, support staff right there without being seen, waitress, Desiree most effective and efficient I have encountered in five decades. Oh, did I mention the best cut of meat I have enjoyed in a while. Ambiance was perfect, clean, well laid out, quiet enough for conversation with a view. One ah shucks, twelve hundred miles to get here.

Been here with family and friends on multiple occasions since the reopening. At first, I noted that some of the younger wait staff weren't very attentive. After revisiting, it seems things have improved. The food is just as good (if not better), the atmosphere pleasant (better accommodations after rebuilding), and the staff are courteous and vigilant. Couldn't recommend it more.

Food was excellent and plentiful. Service was great; server was prompt and courteous and the support staff ensured drinks remained filled and empty plates were removed quickly. Would definitely dine there again.
