Great steaks good service. I have never been disappointed with the food or service.
I love going there for dinner but...we went tonight and I ordered a fillet mignon, medium and my husband got a different steak med rare. Mine started off good all around the ends but the middle which was pretty much the whole steak was super rare! Even the waiter agreed. The waiter was great and the cook offered to cook it more but we were in a hurry and didn't have time. So I only ate around it which was a few bites. I don't know how hard it is to cook a steak but it was so rare I don't think he was paying attention and sent it out anyways. We will definitely be back but I won't be in a hurry the next time in case I have to send it back. Not happy this time :(
Service from Raymond was great. The pickels and breads were good for starters. We had such a nice time Tuesday evening celebrating a birthday for Andrew , son number 2. The steaks were all delicious. The french onion soup was good , not too salty. I had the special ,chicken soup it was delicious, with some spice I never had before. One dish was shrimp stuffed with crab, that we gave an okay. If you want a great steak this is the place to go.
Schlesinger's is definitely a unique experience. It has an associated cigar bar which I'm not a fan of, but they have a non smoking dining area. The service was good. The house pickles (mild dill flavor) were decent, but the bread was cold and hard. I had a french onion soup that had good developed flavor. The salad had a lot of hearts in it that I'm not a fan of having in a side salad. They also have a small dressing selection. A had a filet and mashed potatoes. Everything was above average just not high end. The steak had a real strong iron taste and potatoes lacked seasoning. Overall it was a good experience, but a step below a Ruth's Chris or similar.
