Taqueria Kermes food is so good, you will struggle to not order too much of it, to the point of eating until you feel slightly ill. The burritos are awesome, surprisingly the french fries are actually amazing, and the tacos are on point. They food also arrives incredibly fast. I recommend it to everyone I can who lives in the neighborhood.
Very good margaritas and food. Highly recommend the fajitas. Quesadillas also delicious! Shared a crab and shrimp quesadilla that was one of the best things I've ever tasted
I love everything about this place. First and foremost the food is AMAZING! They have a bunch of different taco selections so you can mix and match, tasty fulfilling entree’s, and their cocktails are super delicious as well. Everything on their menu has reasonable prices. The place itself is nice, quiet, and cozy. Its never packed and the staff is always super nice. Been here over 10 times already and haven’t had a bad experience yet!
Everything about this meal was exceptional! The vibe, the service, the cocktails and wine - and the all-so-important food was the most exceptional element! They have a sign behind the counter that indicted where the CPR machine is kept and I started wondering if it was because they serve tocos so good they could kill you! Highly, HIGHLY recommended!
OK, the dishes ordered, in my humble opinion, do not add up to the 4.5 star average reported by other diners. Maybe my palate is a bit too refined, have reviewed dozens of Mexican inspired eateries in NYC that are definitely more deserving. It is family run, so expected better service. My table was attended by 3 different people, one with an amazing smile, bright personality, two others that were totally down, hurried, and uninspired. Service is as important as the food, presentation, ambience. Considering they did not refill my water glass, take my order correctly, or provide me utensils or extra napkins, have to say the wait staff as a whole was incredibly inattentive during my visit. Presentation was promising. Unfortunately individual main dish ingredients, steak, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables, were overpowered by the added sauces, garnish, when they should have been the stars that shined. Passion fruit mojito was excellent, it was served with a regular drinking straw that drew up the muddled mint ruining the experience. These little details matter. Added up they detract from the total experience. Metered parking spots in the Fresh Pond Road area are hard to find, almost none existent. There is bus and train service nearby. Would I recommend Taqueria Kermes, not really. If you would like to try some places that are awesome, at similar pricing, check out my other reviews.
