Probably the only Bolivian restaurant in New York. I went there today to pick up salteñas to go and the lady there explained to me that it is under new management. I can't speak for the rest of the food but the salteñas I took home were good.
I look forward to going and trying out the rest of the food. I really hope it does not disappoint.
Great food. Specializing in Bolivian cuisine. Wide variety of dishes to choose from. Delicious Salteñas - Bolivian style type empanadas stuffed with stewed beef or chicken ,among other ingredients. Great service , friendly staff. Wide spaceous, Cozy place. Great weekend events too.
it is amazing and gives out food very fast
Revamped new Bolivian spot! Amazing hospitality and great service. The Api and Pasteles were so delicious and fresh, it gives my family a great reminder of home. Love it and will be returning!
Eat the World NYC review:
Take a trip to the central fertile valleys of Bolivia and the casas de campo that have such a high place in the lives of Bolivians. These are known for their rustic qualities to get away from the city and have the freshest and most delicious foods in the entire country. This was the inspiration behind the changes put in effect by the new owners at Vergel Casa de Campo, new to Woodside Avenue this spring. As the only Bolivian address in the city and region, many of the cures for homesickness are in their hands and kitchen. When a plate of food arrives in front of a customer and their eyes light up, you know they are satisfying their community.
