Awesome baba ganoush with hot pita. We both ordered the gyro platter which was very filling, and took a bit home. Spicy red sauce didn't hold back on the heat, very strong cumin and paprika flavor. It's apparently a bit of an institution judging by the 10 year old framed yelp and NFT reviews, which definitely look like they've been on the counter for that long. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly. It's not the tidiest restaurant on earth, with various bulk ingredients (and basketballs?!) piled everywhere, but the food was delicious. We'll definitely be back for more.
This is a hidden gem in Astoria. Great middle eastern food. Everything I've had from there: Shawarma platters, grape leaves, pita and hummus, etc. has all tasted good. I go all the time.
Love this place. Get a chicken shwarma/falafel platter (or whatever they're cooking at the time) multiple times a week. Quick & delicious, highly recommend. Not a fan of how they do their pita sandwiches (splitting pita to use the pocket instead of wrapping) bc I don't know how to eat it without making a mess, but to each their own. Platters, baba ganoush, and specials are ????
Nice place to eat a pita. Cozy and delish.
This place is so good, I wish I lived close by. So much food for a great price, owners are very nice as well! Best “fast” Middle Eastern food I have had in Astoria, after living here for 5 years+
